Manifesting our dream

We are the proud owners of a recently confirmed Ju-Nel built home. We had our eye on it while living across the street from it in a traditional boring 2 story house in Lochwood. You might say we coveted it. We prefer to think that we manifested it and made it our own. Through lucky circumstances, we made an offer before it was ever put on the market. Little did we know what we were getting into. The first year was a struggle to make up for 15 or so years of neglect and deferred maintenance. However, now we are beginning to see light at the end of this long, long tunnel and it has been well worth all the sweat and effort.

For the past two years we have attended the White Rock Arts Home Tour. On the first occasion we met builder/designer Lyle Rowley. On the second occasion we met and spoke at length with Jack Wilson's delightful daughters, Jan and Donna.  Shortly after this tour we found confirmation that our house too was a Ju-Nel home designed and built by their dad, Jack Wilson. We could hardly contain ourselves. Now, we are enthusiastic supporters of all things Ju-Nel and mid-century modern. We have collaborated with the Wilson family to bring attention to this fabulous architecture.

We hope you will help identify more Ju-Nel homes in Dallas so that we may document this little-known architect's legacy and keep the mid-century modern spirit alive and well. Please contact us if you have any information you would like to share.

Thank you,
